The International Tradesmen Union (ITU) held its 1st Ordinary General Assembly with high participation and a strong atmosphere of unity. During the meeting, significant decisions were made in line with the Union’s institutional structuring and future vision.

As a result of the voting at the General Assembly, Mehmet Özdil was unanimously elected as the President of the International Tradesmen Union. Saadettin Çay was also unanimously appointed as the Chair of the Assembly. Both individuals received full support from the members and assumed the responsibility of representing the Union in the new term.

One of the key agenda items of the meeting was the discussion of improvements and updates to the Union’s charter. Amendments aimed at enabling the Union to operate more effectively, inclusively, and in accordance with international standards were presented to the members and adopted unanimously.

The International Tradesmen Union was officially established in May with the approval of the President of the Republic, under Law No. 3335 “On the Establishment of International Organizations.” In this regard, the ITU stands out as one of the few institutions with a legal and robust foundation authorized to operate at the international level.

Following the general assembly, President Mehmet Özdil made a statement, emphasizing their commitment to strengthening the structure of tradespeople both locally and globally:

“We will represent our Union not only at the national level but also effectively on international platforms. We will be the voice of our tradespeople and defend their rights at every level. Together with all our members, we will implement a visionary and participatory structure.”

In the upcoming period, the International Tradesmen Union aims to actively engage in developing projects to meet the needs of the tradesmen community, focusing on regional cooperation, digital transformation, and integration into global networks.
